From Moon of Alabama:
Unlike the earlier CIA launched color revolutions in Georgia (2003), Ukraine (2004) and elsewhere, all recent U.S. instigated “color-revolutions”, i.e. putsch attempts, have been accompanied by the use of force from the side of the “peaceful protesters”. Such color-revolutions by force were instigate in Libya, Syria and Ukraine.
A common denominator of these was the primary use of violence occurred from the “good side” against the “bad side” while the propagandists claimed that it was the “bad side” that started the shooting and strife. The “good site” is inevitably “demonstrating peacefully” even when many policemen or soldiers on the “bad side” die. Thus was the case in Libya where the U.S. and its Gulf proxies used al-Qeada aligned Jihadis from Benghazi as “peaceful demonstrators” against the government, in Syria where the NATO and Gulf supported Muslim Brotherhood killed policemen and soldiers during “peaceful demonstrations” in Deraa and in Ukraine where fascist sharpshooters killed demonstrators and policemen from a hotel roof in the hand of the opposition. All three happened while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.
Regardless of events leading up to Friday’s inauguration, US and NATO troops and armor are massing in Poland, Lithuania and Poland, preparatory to an invasion of the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad, as rehearsed in this summer’s Operation Anaconda. Defending the Motherland are world-class nuclear-capable mobile anti-ballistic missile batteries, cruise missiles, artillery, fighters, bombers and electronic countermeasures proven on the battlefields of Ukraine and Syria.
God will not save us from WWIII and hope placed in Trump is laughable. Therefore, whatever slim chance we have of preventing a thermonuclear holocaust rests with Russian offensive and defensive capabilities, chief among the Iskander short range ballistic missile:
The Iskander-M system is equipped with two solid-propellant single-stage guided missiles, model 9M723K1. Each one is controlled throughout the entire flight path and fitted with an inseparable warhead. Each missile in the launch carrier vehicle can be independently targeted in a matter of seconds. The mobility of the Iskander launch platform makes a launch difficult to prevent.
Targets can be located not only by satellite and aircraft but also by a conventional intelligence center, by an artillery observeror from aerial photos scanned into a computer. The missiles can be re-targeted during flight in the case of engaging mobile targets. Another unique feature of Iskander-M is the optically guided warhead, which can also be controlled by encrypted radio transmission, including such as those from AWACS or UAV. The electro-optical guidance system provides a self-homing capability. The missile’s on-board computer receives images of the target, then locks onto the target with its sight and descends towards it at supersonic speed.
Boost phase thrust vector control (TVC) is accomplished by graphite vanes similar in layout to the V-2 and Scud series tactical ballistic missiles. In flight, the missile follows a quasi-ballistic path, performing evasive maneuvers in the terminal phase of flight and releasing decoys in order to penetrate missile defense systems. The missile never leaves the atmosphere as it follows a relatively flat trajectory. The missile is controlled during the whole flight with gas-dynamic and aerodynamic control surfaces. It uses a small scattering surface, special coatings and small size projections to reduce its radar signature.
The Russian Iskander-M travels at hypersonic speed of 2100–2600 m/s (Mach 6–7) at a height of 50 km. The Iskander-M weighs 4615 kg, carries a warhead of 710–800 kg, has a range of 500 km and achieves a circular error probable (CEP) of 5–7 meters. During flight it can maneuver at different altitudes and trajectories and can turn at up to 20 to 30 G to evade anti-ballistic missiles. For example, in one of the trajectory modes it can dive at the target at 90 degrees at the rate of 700–800 m/s performing anti-ABM maneuvers. The missile is controlled in all phases.
Illegal Western aggressors in Ukraine and Syria failed to establish air superiority due to full spectrum battlefield dominance by the Russian military, who used third generation warfare tactics to surround armor and incinerate cauldrons with mobile Multiple Launch Rocket Systems. When conventional hostilities begin, they will proceed precisely as we saw in Ukraine in 2014. Should conflict escalate to nuclear weapons, all bets are off.
It appears nothing can stop the insane march to war by Western antagonists, based on zero evidence. Until then, pray that the multi-generational Russian response to nuclear blackmail has resulted in superior battlefield technologies. Operation Barbarosso 2.0 may well end for NATO/US forces as it did for the German army in WWII.
Russia successfully defended Ukraine and Syria. There is good reason to believe they will repel the invasion of Kaliningrad.
To be fair, the military industrial complex enjoys a rich tradition of threat inflation by imparting Soviet weapon numbers and capabilities which justified Pentagon budgets. Fortunately, Russia produces a steady stream of military technical info through a variety of recently infamous online sources, subject to corroboration. Additionally, the sound defeat of Ukrainian armed forces in Donbass during 2014 and more recent victories in Syria proved claims made of Russian advances.
Hilariously, and typical of the Zionists whom we serve, neocons also tend to denigrate Russian assets when explaining frequent defeat. Indeed, these chicken hawks are famous for disregarding miltary tactics when devising strategy.
Should Trump survive the current coup, he has surrounded himself with warfighters who disdain such abominations as CounterInsurgency, born of our inability to defend asymmetrical urban warfare in Iraq and resulting in an insane attempt in Afghanistan to win the hearts and minds of those we are killing. The absence of Patraeus and McChrystal in the Trump admin is proof of that.
Whereas the F-35 all-purpose fighter boondoggle indicates the corporatised nature of Pentagon procurement, Russian pre-imminence in outer space is the result of NASA defunding and our dependence on Russian rocket engines. Meanwhile, Russian military has incorporated multi-stage rocketry in theater-level ballistic missiles, which are indefensible with ancient Aegis ABM systems.
From Pepe Escobar in May:
The THAAD and Patriot missiles are worthless – according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) themselves; that’s why they tried to improve them with Iron Dome…
If push comes to nuclear shove, the S-400 and especially the S-500 anti-missile missiles would block all incoming US ICBMs, cruise missiles and stealth aircraft. Offensive drones would be blocked by drone defenses. The S-500 practically consigns to the dustbin stealth warplanes such as the F-22, F-35 and the B-2.
The bottom line is that Russia – in terms of hypersonic missile development – is about four generations ahead of the US, if we measure it by the development of the S-300, S-400 and S-500 systems. As a working hypothesis, we could describe the next system – already in the drawing boards – as the S-600. It would take the US military at least ten years to develop and roll out a new weapons system, which in military terms represents a generation. Every Pentagon planner worth his pension plan should know that.
More about the S-400:
According to manufacturer Almaz-Antey, the S-400 “baseline” system can engage targets at ranges of more than 155 miles at altitudes up to 90,000 feet. Also of note, the S-400 can support at least three types of missiles with differing capabilities. According to Western sources, some versions of those missiles are capable of engaging targets as far away as 250 miles. The S-400 can track 300 targets simultaneously and engage 36 of those at any one time.
As one senior U.S. Marine Corps aviator told me earlier, the S-300 and S-400 series are a deadly threat to everything except the most advanced stealth fighters and bombers. “A complete game changer for all fourth-gen aircraft [like the F-15, F-16 and F/A-18]. That thing is a beast and you don’t want to get near it,” he said.
Only the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, F-35 and Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit stealth bomber would be able to operate inside areas protected by those weapons. But even those aircraft could be challenged if there were enough S-300 or S-400 batteries operating as part of an integrated air defense network.
Regarding Russian ECM:
This new Russian ECM pod is called the “Khibiny” system, and it was previously used against a US naval warship in the Black Sea (second link) and against the Ukrainian military by Russian or Russian-supported forces (third link). The Khibiny ECM pod apparently disabled the communications and control systems of the US warship so completely that the crew was panicked (and with good reason if this report is fully accurate). The third link reports the US military is deploying personnel with the Ukrainian military to learn how to fight the Russian military while the Khibiny systems is deployed. The fourth link adds that this same Russian ECM system has been deployed vs. the USS Ronald Reagan, shutting down its electronic systems as well. Additionally disturbing is the fifth link which examines whether an electronic shutdown of some air-traffic control systems on the US West Coast was due to this Russian jamming capacity being tested against US civilian systems. The sixth link and seventh link are Google web search pages which offer readers some of the above-cited links plus many more on this subject. They were found as I attempted to fact-check some of the information contained in the first link. The fourth link reports that this new Russian ECM system has been deployed in Kaliningrad (in Northern Europe) as well as in the Black Sea region and in Syria.
This is very serious. If the information in these links is all true, then the US and NATO have been “asleep at the switch” and dangerously complacent about military matters during the Obama administration. The Khibiny system gives the Russian military an enormous advantage over its opponents. Obviously, the USA, NATO, the Israelis, Japan, India, etc. all need to have a mutual “crash program” activated to learn how to defeat this new Russian defensive system. The new Russian ECM system doesn’t apparently do any offensive damage to anything, but it can reportedly shut down command, control and communications systems of all Western military platforms.
